This promo for a documentary “Red & White” about Polish filmmakers behind the
Iron Curtain uses metaphors and symbolism often used by Polish directors in order
to outwit the censors. The promo is a mockery of a language lesson for viewers to discover double meanings behind scenes in Polish films, where the second meaning
is revealed with a TV signal interruption. The opposition managed to hijack the TV
signal a number of times to undermine Communist government’s propaganda.
